Dazed and Confused

Nick was nice enough to lend me his fancy Dazed and Confused DVD. It's got a real nice booklet 'n' all these extra features on it. I only watched the main feature, and it wasn't all that great to tell you the truth, but I do believe it was well-done and totally deserves to be on the Criterion Collection. I think I would've enjoyed it more if I wasn't in such a shitty mood at the time. It's not a good idea to watch a movie about teenagers when you're pissed off at teen culture (or feeling misanthrophic in general).

Later I cleaned up around the house and I felt swell. Right now I'm waiting on a call from Alanna! She's started watching LOST and is going to share her thoughts on it with me. Woo!

Jeeze Louis

Today was a train wreck, but I had fun anyway. Let's do it again sometime, but without Nathan and in the wilderness without risking anybody's freedom. Jeeze louis.

Thems Big Otters

It's a cruddy drawing, I know, but I was distracted at the time. Mrs. Aziz had a speaker come in to class today with a slideshow about his travels to South America. Didn't sound that interesting at first, so I started drawing, but then he began to elaborate on the lovely mountain towns in Peru and the unbelievable architecture and things left behind by the Incas and Aztecs. Very cool. Plus, this guy was a real photo journalist and his photographs were nothing short of exquisite.

The last bit of his presentation involved the rain forests in Brazil, where we saw shamans and exotic beasts. There is one last thing I must take note of: there are giant otters, if you are not aware. There are giant otters...and they stand six feet tall on average. Holy balls.

I've lost track of my days, what a disaster! Sit back and enjoy this man with very wiggly, very long, very peach-flavoured arms:

Bizarre

This drawing wasn't meant to come out so damned weird. I apologize for that. However, it had to be done after hearing people talk about Locke losing his mobility again in LOST. What would he do then, huh? Would Mr. Eko have to carry him around? Good thing that guy's forgiving, or he'd just leave you crawling around in the sand, Locke.

PS: I know it was on your mind. LOCKE/EKO OTP!!

My Mini Breakdown

Eric's Mac Mini finally got here today, re-packaged and ready for me to give it a try. Upon first setting it up, I was all smiles -- so excited to finally have a Macintosh computer in my posession. I've always admired Apple from afar, never actually having used one of the machines. Don't get me wrong, I did my research. My lack of experience was the fault of my little panic attack.

All of the apparent downsides of using the Mac were insignificant, considering I can use both operating systems on it if I so please. The shock of trying something new had just paralyzed me. As ridiculous as this sounds, I found myself in tears, haunted by my own indecision concerning the Mac Mini. I still don't know if I'm ready to leave the comfort of the Failed Robot, my slow-as-hell Gateway computer I've had to myself since 2003.

I'll figure it out.

Apocalypse!!

Lately everyone I know has been beamin' like rays of golden sun, so happy they have permanent toothy grins. Except for Jim. What is this, bizarro day? It sure seemed that way, until I discovered the real reason Jim's happy balloon had burst. Maryann broke up with him. It's the end of the world as we know it, and I'm not being sarcastic there. Really, holeee shit. I'm not too happy with Maryann right now. More on that later, maybe. It's far too devestating for this happy li'l sketchblog.

Also, some more ugly old characters!
